MongoDB grants leading health tech company dacadoo ‘Innovator of the Year’ and ‘Data for Good’ award

New York/Zurich – the leading, modern general purpose database platform, MongoDB has chosen dacadoo as recipient of two of this year’s awards: ‘Innovator of the Year’ and ‘Data for Good’.

The MongoDB Innovation Awards are presented annually to honor groundbreaking uses of data and the creativity of professionals expanding the limits of technology. The vast amount of submissions gets thoroughly reviewed by a panel of industry experts, and winners are selected within each category; in addition to a specific overall winner for ’Innovator of the Year’.

dacadoo, with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, develops and operates a mobile-first digital health platform that helps people live healthier and more active lives through a combination of motivational techniques from behavioral science, online games and social networks, as well as artificial intelligence and automated coaching.

As just announced on the MongoDB.live event on June 9-10th, dacadoo is the 2020 winner in the ’Data for Good’ category and the global ’Innovator of the Year’ champion.

Rewarding innovation

MongoDB is committed to honoring projects and people who dream big. The 2020 ‘Innovator of the Year’ title was hand-picked out of all other category winners and is chosen based on who exemplifies to be carrying out the world’s most innovative projects in data.

“We are thrilled to honor dacadoo with not one but two MongoDB Innovation awards,” said Dev Ittycheria, CEO, MongoDB. “The company’s Health Score Engagement Platform represents a major innovation in healthcare, helping people make informed decisions about the risk factors that contribute to chronic diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease. They are just getting started with MongoDB and I can’t wait to see what they do next.”

Data for good

In the ‘Data for Good’ category, MongoDB seeks to bring a spotlight to creators that are taking on some of the most challenging issues affecting society and our planet, transforming the future and making the world a better place.

Peter Ohnemus, President and CEO of dacadoo, states: “We are humbled to win the 2020 MongoDB Innovator of the Year Award and the Data for Good Award. It really means a lot to me and the whole dacadoo team that our hard work is recognized by an organization that we regard so highly!”
